Who We Are

About the House of the Ibis

A mystery school, sacred fellowship, and spiritual academy dedicated to the expansion of the Inner Light through study, practice, and enlightened praxis.

A Living School of Sacred Science

The House of the Ibis is a Mystery School, spiritual academy, and sacred learning community dedicated to the dissemination of metaphysical teachings and the expansion of the Inner Light.

The House gives great respect to the magical and mystical teachings of various traditions and recognises that all spiritual roads sincerely dedicated to the Light lead toward the same goal of spiritual illumination, self-knowledge, wisdom, service, and conscious union with the Divine.

The work of the House is rooted in the ancient wisdom traditions while speaking to the needs of modern seekers searching for depth, discipline, clarity, and authentic spiritual formation.

From Lodge Tehuti to the House

The origins of the House of the Ibis go back to 2002, when Lodge Tehuti was raised atop a high hill in the northern mountain range of Trinidad by the Domina Templi of the Servants of the Light School of Occult Science.

From this beginning, the Lodge grew into a group of like-minded individuals committed to a no-nonsense approach to spiritual development and an unwavering loyalty to the path of Spiritual Return.

Through the years, the work expanded through lectures, workshops, retreats, ceremonial observances, study programs, and a yearly curriculum focused on various aspects of the mysteries. In November 2009, the temple was formally recognised as having achieved School status.

Today, the House continues this work as a Caribbean-rooted sanctuary of sacred study, inner refinement, and spiritual community.

Formation, Not Spectacle

The purpose of the House is to assist sincere seekers in the process of self-knowledge and inner transformation. True spiritual work begins with the understanding of oneself.

Before the aspirant can safely approach higher magical or mystical practices, there must be a foundation of self-awareness, emotional maturity, discipline, balance, and reverence.

Our aim is not merely to provide information, but to assist in the formation of balanced, thoughtful, spiritually grounded individuals capable of standing on their own metaphysical feet.

How the Work Is Carried

The House values depth over display, discipline over curiosity, and transformation over entertainment. The work is approached through:

  • Structured study and supervised learning
  • Meditation, contemplation, and symbolic reflection
  • Ritual and ceremonial awareness
  • Psycho-spiritual self-examination
  • Community dialogue and ethical refinement
  • Service to the Light
